Chelation: Simple Detox Treatment That Can Save Your Life

We get more questions on chelation therapy than almost any other nutrient or protocol.

In short, chelation therapy was created by the Germans in the early 1930s to remove heavy metals. It is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to remove heavy metals. It is not approved to remove calcium plaque from the arteries. The FDA will never approve EDTA chelation therapy for cardiovascular disease simply because the FDA will not jeopardize the heart-surgery industry, a multibillion-dollar medical monopoly.

The American Medical Association (AMA), the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) all publicly state that EDTA therapy is “the treatment of choice to remove toxic metals from the body. Toxic metal accumulation is directly related to heart disease.”

Chelation works on the whole body, whereas bypass surgery bypasses only a few inches of heart arteries.

Organs Benefit

Just the benefit of lead removal is of tremendous benefit to the heart, the kidneys and the nervous system. Heavy metal toxicity is a big factor in causing immune-system compromise.

If someone says to you that there are no studies on chelation therapy, your response should be that blinded studies were never required by the FDA to determine the effectiveness of bypass surgery, angioplasty or stents.

The focus of EDTA chelation therapy is on helping vascular conditions related to restricted blood flow due to atherosclerotic plaque.

But there are many other benefits traceable to treatment with EDTA chelation:

  • Reduction of liver-produced cholesterol.
  • Lowered insulin requirements in diabetics.
  • Reduced high blood pressure.
  • Normalization of cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Relief from leg-muscle cramps.
  • Reduction in allergic symptoms.
  • Normalized weight.
  • Improved psychological and emotional status.
  • Enhanced sensory input: better sight, hearing and taste.
  • Reversal of impotence.
  • Cold extremities warmed.

Neurological Disruption

In heart disease heavy metal toxins disrupt neurological pathways.

Our polluted environment poisons the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat with heavy metals, including lead, cadmium, iron, copper, mercury and aluminum. Add to this vascular assault the buildup of plaque in our arteries, and EDTA chelation therapy is the only treatment of choice to restore vascular health.

Who says so? The AMA, FDA and CDC. Licensed doctors, from first-year interns to professors of medicine at Harvard University, as well as many prestigious medical centers, all confirm that EDTA chelation therapy is the only viable choice for the removal of toxic metals from the body.

Removal of toxic metals and calcium plaque from the human vascular system directly and positively affects the restoration of cardiovascular health. It’s a lifesaver!

Better Heart Health

There is no doubt about the efficacy of chelation therapy (IV or oral) for cardiovascular health. There is new excitement about chelation for kidney disease. Just some of the many books written on chelation are: The Chelation Way by Morton Walker; Forty Something Forever by Harold Brecher; Bypassing Bypass Surgery by Elmer M. Cranton, M.D.; A Textbook on EDTA Chelation by Elmer M. Cranton, M.D.; and Questions from the Heart by Terry Chappell, M.D.

Finally, there is a mountain of evidence to support EDTA chelation. People who read the books and literature know that chelation is a miracle in restoring vascular health all over the body and brain. Chelation must be taken over a few years for maximum benefit. It should be taken as a preventive as well as for the removal of plaque after it has accumulated.

  1. Bob, what is the difference in time & money between Oral & IV Chelation’s effectiveness?
Thank you, georgemthorpe@yahoo.com, great article, by the way. We NEED Info like this…

Go to http://www.gordonresearch.com to learn all about chelation. Dr. Garry Gordon is known as the father of chelation therapy. Daily oral IV is what he’s recommending now. Do be sure and take a multi-mineral supplement at a different time so you replenish any nutrient minerals that are chelated along with the heavy metals (also minerals) that you are trying to remove. Dr. Gordon is 78 years young and healthier than he has ever been in his life.

    Nutritional supplements

In the 1960′s, scientists developed the concept of chelating a metal ion prior to feeding the element to the animal. They believed that this would create a neutral compound, protecting the mineral from being complexed with insoluble salts within the stomach, which would render the metal unavailable for absorption. Amino acids, being effective metal binders, were chosen as the prospective ligands, and research was conducted on the metal-amino acid combinations. The research supported that the metal-amino acid chelates were able to enhance mineral absorption.

During this period, synthetic chelates were also being developed. An example of such synthetics is ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). These synthetics applied the same concept of chelation and did create chelated compounds; however, these synthetics were too stable and not nutritionally viable. If the mineral was taken from the EDTA ligand, the ligand could not be used by the body and would be expelled. During the expulsion process the EDTA ligand will randomly chelate and strip another mineral from the body.[12]

According to the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), a metal amino acid chelate is defined as the product resulting from the reaction of a metal ion from a soluble metal salt with a mole ratio of one to three (preferably two) moles of amino acids. The average weight of the hydrolyzed amino acids must be approximately 150 and the resulting molecular weight of the chelate must not exceed 800 Da.

Since the early development of these compounds, much more research has been conducted, and has been applied to human nutrition products in a similar manner to the animal nutrition experiments that pioneered the technology. Ferrous bis-glycinate is an example of one of these compounds that has been developed for human nutrition. [13]

  6. Bob says:

Why is there no mention as to where and how one might obtain the oral or intravenous EDTA?

    Sounds like the real deal!

HEALTH FOOD STORE FOR THE ORAL VERSION.

    • peggy says:

google cardio renew…………they have the liquid form and pill form……….they say the liquid works better and it comes with the vitamins…………..I haven’t done this yet but am going to try the liquid, it’s rather expensive, but what the hey, if it works it’s better than surgery

  7. Vern says:

I can say from personal experience that chelation works as described in the article.

  8. mile says:

so far my escape from hospital with doctors and nurses demanding my need for bypass surguries years ago has also prevented a financial drain and lifelong need for expensive drugs that give percentage kickbacks to doctors and hospitals and avoidance of a painful experience has proven the value of about 200 dollars a year of supplements vitamins and chelators, as does my painless days…………..

  9. FRANCES ANDREWS says:

Where do I purchase oral EDTA am very interested in this as I have blood pressure problems and I’m a diabetic.

  10. lowell says:

ok,I bought the book, cant find a specific recommendation on how to obtain the EDTA SUPPLEMENT or how to use it. i also need to find out what doctors/practitioners might be neede for this therapy.
    thanks

  11. Roy says:

e mail “Wonder Labs” you can get EDTA(oral caps) there. I’ve used them for years. I’m 86

  12. George says:

I have little doubt that the Australian regulatory authority would also not want to upset the medical fraternity, so chelated minerals are out here as well. Although the government and media talk about the high cost of “health care”, they are not prepared to follow simple treatments for problems like heart issues. We must keep the sugeons and Big Pharma in a healthy state!

  13. Jean says:

would like to try it to see if it would work for me.

  14. Anthony L. Greer says:

    Dear Bob,
could you please tell me where I can find a qualified doctor in my area that does I.V. Chelation therapy please? I live in Westminster,Maryland and I wanna have the I.V. chelation therapy done cause I have had bypass surgery done years ago and now I wanna clean all of my arteries n veins 100% so please email me a list of docs in my area so I can go get this done asap!! thanks Bob
    I’m Tony

  15. Terry says:

Is this advisable for a person with DVT – Deep Vein Thrombosis?

  16. Todd says:

where can a person find more info on chelation?

  17. susanne says:

Where do i go to order chelation?

  18. N. Springer says:

IV chelation works. I had 24 IV’s at a cost of $85 per IV which cleared up (apparently a spasm whatever) a small ache I had in left chest that would come and go without any pattern. Insurance would have paid I had to rmove heavy metals. It lowered BP some. You can find a website somewhere that gives doctors. There are only 2 or 3 in SC, apparently. EDTA chelation pills are available from some vitamin mail order houses like Swanson Vitamins. BUT a person would need some supervision because you do not want a depletion of your minerals. My doctor gave it all to me at one time by IV. I did this about 5 years ago and am ok. I’m 75. I have IBS and am working on that now. I’m doing a liver cleanse which seems to be helping and taking 130 billion probiotics per day. Also had to start IODINE supps for thyroid because I had been exhausted all the time. Almost everyone is iodine deficient Also manesium deficient I only say all this because if you are beat to hell you probably need more that just chelation, which may be primary if you are having heart/circulation problems. I’ve had abook on chelation for about 10 years so books are available. Had a friend from Europe whose familly member had to do about 4 IVs every so often about 15or more years ago because of narrow spot in one of his arteries that collected plaque. This is done is Europe. Our medical system is good when you need an emergency operation but it seems to suck when it comes to actually healing the body when only symptoms are present and their is no underlying diagnosis of a problem For example, I wonder if a doctor says take iodine for your thyroid OR would he rather say I’ll fix you right up instantly with thyroid harmones etc pills. He will give BP medicine for high BP which is a symptom of old age.

Where to order/purchase EDTA. Thanks, Jim
