Research in Japan shows that merely tying a soft, extendible band around the chest may help relieve a persistent, dry cough.
A prolonged, chronic cough is annoying and disruptive. It can be caused by allergies, asthma and a variety of other conditions. Over the course of a year, Japanese researchers evaluated the antitussive effect of a chest band worn for 8 hours a day in 56 people with chronic cough. They found that it improved the ailments of 88 percent of the cough sufferers.
