To Lose Weight, Eat The Burger, Ditch The Bun

Go ahead and enjoy your burger for dinner tonight, but toss the bun if you’re trying to shed those extra pounds. An analysis of 17 different studies of weight-loss diets confirms that a low-carb diet is effective at reducing weight. (The aforementioned bun is just about nothing but carbs.)
When scientists analyzed research that involved 1,041 obese individuals, they found that, on average, those on a low-carb diet lost 18 pounds in six months.
“We have passed the time where we would say the Atkins diet is bad for you. That’s an outdated position,” Gary Foster, director of the Center for Obesity Research and Education at Temple University in Philadelphia told USA Today. “This is a viable alternative for weight loss.”
