6 small things to do each day to avoid coronavirus

Washing hands

1. Wash your hands

Okay, this is very basic but it also can’t be said often enough….

Washing your hands as often as possible, especially before you eat, touch your face, or after you’ve been out in public, is vital to keeping coronavirus at bay.

I tell my kids to sing the “Happy Birthday Song” three times slowly as they wash and to make sure they’re scrubbing in between their fingers, around their nails, and all the way up to their wrists.

It’s also important to change out any towel you use to dry your hands regularly to prevent contamination. We’re switching ours daily and running them through the wash in hot water.

If you don’t have access to soap and water, make sure you have hand sanitizer ready to kill off any virus you’ve come in contact with.
