That drink that drives cavities away

Cavities are a pain in the mouth. But if you want to protect your teeth from destruction, researchers in Spain point out there’s a beverage that can help banish dental disease.

To help your teeth, sip a glass of red wine. A lab study shows that natural chemicals from grape seed that are found in red wine can slow the growth of the bacteria that cause teeth to develop cavities.

When the Spanish researchers grew cavity-causing bacteria in the lab, they found that exposing them to red wine effectively wiped them out. In this test, grape seed extract also worked.
