The Anti-Aging Exercise Everyone Should Do

If you want to live longer, you should also strive to live better. And a study at the University of Navarre (in Spain) shows that there’s a type of exercise you must do if you want to avoid frailty in your later years.
The Spanish researchers studied people over the age of 90 who lifted weights twice a week and found that these seniors gained muscle mass while improving strength and power. People in the study who couldn’t stand up or get out of a chair could walk by the end of the three-month study.
Researcher Mikel Izquierdo says: “The training raised their functional capacity, lowered the risk of falls, and improved muscle power. In addition to the significant increases in the physical capacity of frail elderly people, the study has shown that power training can be perfectly applied to the elderly with frailty.”
Izquierdo recommends that everyone do at least two days a week of resistance training along with two days of aerobic exercise. And his research shows you’re never too old to start.
