What’s Your Perfect Age?

whats-your-perfect-age_300If you could choose your age and stay at that age (in good health) as long as you wanted, what would you pick? Well, when the folks at Harris Interactive polled that question, they got some surprising answers.

Overall, the perfect age averaged out to be 50. Women, on average, said their perfect age would be 53. Men chose 47. This represents a significant change from 2003 when answers to a similar poll showed that people considered 41 to be the perfect age.

The most recent survey shows that Easterners consider 53 to be the perfect age. In the South, it’s 51. Out west, it goes down to 47.

Politically, this seems to be an area where Republicans agree with Democrats. On average, people of either party picked 53 as the perfect age. Independents chose 46. But the more conservative you are, the more your perfect age goes up. If you’re more liberal, the perfect age goes down: Conservatives picked 53, moderates picked 51 and liberals picked 46.
