3. Cladosporium

Effects from exposure to this household mold can include skin, eye and sinus infections. It is also a known trigger for asthma sufferers.

Cladosporium is found mostly in kitchens and bathrooms, most commonly in wallpaper, fabric upholstery and carpets, and in plant soil. It is a unique allergenic mold in that it can grow in both warm and cold environments.

Some species of cladosporium are pathogenic and toxigenic to humans.
