1. Elevated CBD levels

The antibiotic clarithromycin and the antifungal medication ketoconazole both inhibit CYP3A4, the liver enzyme that breaks down CBD. Taking CBD in combination with these and other drugs can raise CBD levels (ketoconazole was shown to nearly double CBD levels).

This increases the likelihood of side effects such as drowsiness and digestive issues.
