You’re right — it’s all a big lie to grab your money

If you’re reading this, you’re in a group of folks who suspect there’s something not right about what mainstream medicine it telling us. And so you’re searching for more natural and effective ways to get healthier and happier.

And you’re right to do so, as you’ll see in a minute.

You already know that mainstream medicine doesn’t have very many answers. And you really aren’t interested in Big Pharma, the politics, the FDA, the lies…

You just want us to do the research and help you. And that’s what we strive for.

But today we want to show you a very stark example of why you’re right to look for alternatives to the medical industrial complex.

If you have ever wondered if that drug the doctor is offering you will work… if you want to know how far the drug companies will go to lie to you, deceive you, and grab all of your money that they can, keep reading.

This example comes from an FDA application by Forest Labs to try and get a new antidepressant, cloned from an already-approved drug, approved for use in children.

Here are just a few of the deceptions put over on the FDA and you, the prospective customer who’s child is suffering, published in a peer-reviewed study in a prestigious journal — the American Journal of Psychiatry

  • Inflating the drug’s effect by reporting an incorrect and clearly exaggerated effect size.
  • Corporate marketers removed all mention of secondary negative effects of the drug.
  • The same marketers inserted positive secondary effects (a huge no-no for reporting medical studies).
  • Authors, who were not the scientists themselves, were directed by corporate marketers to exclude, and then fudge, violations of the Investigational New Drug protocol… which then made the results seem positive instead of negative.
  • Adverse events were reported in a misleading way.
  • The drug had no effect on depression in children under age 12… yet this was NOT REPORTED even though it was the point of the study.
  • Forest Labs knew a separate study they did showed suicide risk in children, but that information was withheld from the scientists conducting the new study.
  • The article, published in the prestigious journal, did not mention it was written by a non-medical ghostwriter who took direction from marketing executives. In other words, it was marketing material posing as a “scientific study.”
  • Academic authors were brought in afterwards to look at the study, while corporate marketers hovered over their shoulders to make sure they toed the company line.
  • These academics totally failed to recognize the improperly calculated and egregiously inflated size of the effect of the drug.

What was the result of this deliberate fraud?

The publication drew wide attention. According to Thomson Reuters Web of Science, the bogus study has been cited over 160 times, placing it in the top 5% of cited articles in clinical medicine from 2004. The fraud is still being perpetuated.

The article also allowed Forest Labs justification to use its identical original drug off-label in children, even though the FDA denied approval for the new drug, and even though the actual results were negative – to the tune of millions upon millions of dollars.

And this is just one drug, one example, one affliction…

How many more drug trials have been fabricated and put out there as “science?” Lots… take the McGill Center revelation about cancer drugs. In their investigation they found that the effectiveness of cancer drugs are overestimated by as much as 45 percent in animal models.

Sunitinib, a cancer drug used to treat advanced and rare cancers, is one such drug. The McGill scientists found evidence the studies that reported little or no anti-cancer effect were essentially “pushed under the rug.” They were not published, leading to a great overestimation of the drug’s efficacy.

It’s more evidence that you’re right to keep reading, keep searching, and to be very, very suspicious of mainstream medicine and these drug “cures.”

Editor’s note: Cancer is Big Pharma and the FDA’s biggest money-making collaboration. If you have any doubts, consider their twisted partnership that allows drugs to be fast-tracked for approval – in spite of dangerous side effects and no real disease impact. All the while effective natural and alternative treatments are forbidden!
