How to protect your skin

Nutrition is always a way to slow the signs of aging, and your skin is no exception to that. Here are nine foods that fight skin aging while offering a host of other health benefits.

In addition to adding in foods that are good for your flesh, it’s also very important to “clean up” your diet as well. That means avoiding highly processed foods and eliminating allergenic foods.

Consider changing out your personal care products for natural ones that don’t strip your skin of healthy bacteria and oils. This can also help eliminate chemical sensitivity and exposure to toxins.

Then use natural topical healing substances such as wheat germ oil (natural vitamin E source), comfrey, calendula, mullein leaf, lobelia herb or beeswax.

Exercise, even if it’s just walking, is beneficial to the skin, just like any organ that desperately needs oxygenated blood coursing through it.

And lastly, be careful about your sun exposure if you have aging skin. My colleague Dr. Isaac Eliaz offers some natural ways to guard against overexposure to the sun.
