How to tell your DNA to burn off fat

If you’re one of those people who seem to gain weight without really overeating, it may be your genes.

The good news is, you’re not stuck. You can affect the expression of your genes and program them to stop the insanity.

Researchers in England discovered this recently while looking for ways to keep your waistline from bulging.

Tests have shown that some people have a gene called the “fat mass and obesity associated” (FTO) gene, and they suffer a predisposition to gaining fat.

The study looked at the health history of more than 218,000 people and shows that you can reduce the effect of this gene by 30 percent.

All you have to do is lead a more physically active life.

The researchers point out: “… physical activity is an effective way of controlling body weight, particularly in individuals with a genetic predisposition towards obesity. Thus, they contrast with the determinist view held by many that genetic influences are unmodifiable.”

This doesn’t even mean “exercise.” It just means not being sedentary. Do whatever you like. You can do traditional exercise of course, but anything that is not busywork and really uses your muscles will work just fine.
