In the kitchen with Kelley: Honey-baked brie with walnuts

How often do you have to chase family members out of the kitchen while making final preparations for your holiday dinner? Constantly, right? The house fills with divine, hunger-inducing smells wafting from warm casseroles, baked birds or honey hams. The temptation to snag a taste before the table is set is just too much for most.

Keep your guests out of your hair by serving this tempting snack: honey-baked brie with brain and heart health-boosting walnuts.

Brie is naturally lower in fat than most cheeses and is naturally low in carbohydrates. And according to nutritionist and weight-loss coach Alan Argon, “The combination of protein and fat in regular, full-fat cheese is very satiating. As a result, eating full-fat cheese holds your appetite at bay for hours, and I’ve found that it cuts down my clients’ food intake at subsequent meals.”

I prefer apple slices, but you can also serve it with crackers. And I guarantee everyone will still have plenty of room for dinner.
