Exercise has long been understood to help women live a better life with lupus. A study from 1989 monitored women with lupus who bicycled for a half-hour, three times weekly, over the course of eight weeks. They were less tired by study’s end and had a greater aerobic capacity. It can also promote bone strength and lower your chance of a heart attack. In a 2005 study, stretching and walking were found to help women with lupus manage their depression.
