5. Include more omega-3 in your diet and less omega-6

Fish lovers, rejoice! Omega-3 fatty acids, found in salmon and tuna, have been shown in a 2017 study to be beneficial for lupus. Those with lupus who increased the amount of omega-3 fats they got through food had improved sleep and less harsh lupus flare-ups.

Lowering omega-6 — which is found in corn and sunflower oils — and getting a lot of omega-3 was proven beneficial when the overall activity of lupus was monitored. Various studies have indicated omega-6 may increase inflammation. Omega-3, meanwhile, might decrease it.
