Listen to your body’s signals

A few years ago, I was at my teaching job when I felt a weird pressure in my chest. It was something I’d never felt before, and it just felt strange. It went away, but came back 15 minutes later.

Like many people, I thought, “I can’t leave work now. I don’t want to bother anyone.”

And most of all, “I don’t want to look foolish when this turns out to be nothing.”

Well, I did go to the hospital, and it did turn out to be nothing more than indigestion.

Still, I’d had a scare, and realized that looking foolish should not even be part of the equation.

Here are nine signals you should never ignore, or chalk up to “nothing.” Go to your doctor and get them checked out. They could save you time and expense, and could quite possibly save your life.
