Dr. Michael Cutler says you need to stick to a junk-food free diet for at least four weeks to really break the cycle of addiction.

It may be hard in the beginning, but it will get easier as time goes on. The longer you stay away from junk food the less you crave it. And once your body has withdrawn from the bad stuff, you can indulge in a treat every once in a while without losing control.
