Also known as acrochordons, these little flesh-colored flaps of hanging skin are nothing more than that, and nothing to be at all concerned about.

The only hazard from skin tags is if they get caught on jewelry or other items and get pulled too hard. If this happens, they can become painful or even bleed.

If they get in your way or make you feel self-conscious, your doctor can remove them either by cauterization, cryosurgery or excision.
