Luckily, the two symptoms that are now recognized as hallmarks of COVID-19 infection are not common allergy symptoms.

First is a fever. Clearly, if you’re not ill, then spring allergies and their symptoms do not include a fever. You may feel flushed or warm from all the sneezing, but a temperature of any significance is not typical of allergies.

The other classic COVID-19 symptom is a dry, uncontrollable cough. Again, the post nasal drip of allergies can certainly cause a cough. But it’s not that dry, hacking kind. If anything, it’s full of mucus.
