Before we go on, let’s say this: the shortness of breath that is very common with COVID-19 usually comes on without warning, and isn’t attributable to any other illness. In other words, it just appears with the virus.

Being allergic and short of breath, on the other hand, is often because of nasal and sinus congestion, which are not symptoms of COVID-19.

Nevertheless, being unable to take a good breath is always a reason for concern. If it persists, a call to your doctor is definitely in order.
