Well, a vitamin D deficiency could be to blame since a 5-year study of more than 4,600 women aged 65 and older, linked low vitamin D levels to weight gain.
The study showed that women who are deficient in vitamin D weigh more than those whose levels fall in the normal range and that when women gain weight, those with low D levels gain more on average than those whose levels are optimal.
