8 rules for a healthy cleanse [slideshow]

#7 Understand the Symptoms

When you’re cleansing, you could experience fatigue, headaches and other symptoms as your body adapts to being without the sugars, carbs, alcohol and other things it craves. These are normal.

Don’t give up. Before beginning any new wellness activity, spend some time thinking about the desired result and your reasons for wanting it. Whatever the reason, meditate on it and think of all the wonderful things that will result from engaging in it. This gives you the emotional and mental adjustment for the need and desire for what you’re about to do so that when the going gets tough, you won’t quit

However, if you do experience problems that you’re unsure about, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider.
