How to break this deadly sleeping habit (slideshow)

1. Manage your stress

To alter your biological clock, you need to first and foremost manage your stress levels. You can do this using deep breathing techniques, yoga, or my personal fave – just taking a nice, relaxing bath.

You also need to be sure to get enough regular exercise, and set a sleep schedule that you follow daily. Avoiding eating late in the evening as well as excess alcohol is also vital since drinking can change your biological clock for the worse.

You should also make sure to get exposure to bright light early in the morning to wake your body up and avoid light, including the blue light from computers, tablets and other devices in the evening. Making an effort to do as many of your necessary activities and errands earlier in the day is helpful as well to transforming your evenings into a time for winding down rather than just getting started.
