Fast-working over-the-counter ED gel gets FDA approval
Erectile dysfunction or ED affects approximately 30 million men in the United States alone.
This can leave these men with an unfulfilling sex life, a strained relationship, depression, anxiety and loss of self-esteem.
Because of this, many men have asked their doctor about that little blue pill only to worry that the prescription medication could cause side effects that are even worse than the condition they’re trying to treat.
The FDA approved an over-the-counter solution for men suffering from ED that requires no prescription and may come with fewer side effects. And they say it even works faster than regular ED medication…
Gel activates nitric oxide release
In June of 2023, MED3000 (or Eroxon) was approved by the FDA for the treatment of ED. This topical gel is available in single-use tubes. And to use it, a man simply applies it to the head of the penis right before sexual intercourse.
So how does the gel work?
Made up of a combination of volatile solvents, which evaporate rapidly after application, the gel creates a cooling effect followed by a warming sensation. This stimulates nerve endings on the head of the penis, causing the release of nitric oxide or NO.
Once nitric oxide is released the smooth muscle inside the penis relaxes, allowing for an increase in the blood flow required to support a strong and healthy erection.
In clinical trials, 65 percent of men who used MED3000 achieved an erection within 10 minutes and maintained it long enough to have sex. This is much faster than the most commonly used ED drugs, like tadalafil (Cialis) and sildenafil (Viagra), which take approximately 30 minutes to work.
Of course, that does you no good if the faster working time and ease of purchase come with more side effects, right?
Luckily, the gel seems to be a winner there too.
Studies have shown that the most common side effects experienced by men using the gel were headaches and nausea, which occurred in just 1 to 3 percent of men.
And, no side effects were reported among sexual partners.
What ED means beyond the bedroom
MED3000 is readily available. A male friend said he saw it on Amazon for $99 (a 1.75-ounce tube).
But you should know that ED can be indicative of a much more serious issue…
In a study that came out of Australia, researchers found that men with ED had a 35 percent greater risk of hospitalization due to heart disease and a 93 percent higher risk of death from any illness.
The connection is vascular. Just like NO improves blood flow to the penis, it’s the key to better blood vessels, blood pressure and blood flow — for a healthier vascular system overall.
Of course, the body produces NO naturally. But certain foods can ramp up waning production….
When you consume dietary nitrates, like those you can find in spinach or beets, the good bacteria in your mouth immediately begin to convert them to nitrites and then nitric oxide in the gut, bloodstream and various organs that can benefit, including the penis.
It’s the reason beets are so healthy — from your liver to your libido.
